The BBC is reviewing whether or not to ban TikTok and has advised employees to delete the Chinese language social media app from work telephones except they’re utilizing it for editorial or advertising causes.
The UK broadcaster issued recent steerage for workers on Sunday after the UK government prohibited the use of TikTok on the telephones of ministers and civil servants.
The BBC’s steerage marks a big change of tone from the broadcaster after it has vigorously embraced TikTok over the previous 12 months, even hiring specialists for its social media workforce.
